Congratulations Dr Peter Harcourt

Basketball Australia has announced the 2022 inductees to the Australian Basketball Hall of Fame - three of which are Victorians, and that includes Alphington Sports Medicine's own Dr Peter Harcourt!

 

Peter and his wife Katherine established the Clinic back in 1981 and are both still Directors today. And while we may be a little biased, we think it's very fitting that he joins sporting royalty in the Hall of Fame.

There are many risk factors in developing these diseases, however we know that modifiable risk factors like exercise and other lifestyle changes play a pivotal role in both reducing the development and progression of chronic diseases. Often increasing our physical activity and improving our dietary behaviours is recommended, yet rarely personalised and integrated into a global treatment plan.

New Strength Testing Equipment at Alphington Sports Medicine Exercise + Rehabilitation

We’ve recently added two new pieces of equipment to our Exercise + Rehabilitation Area – The ForceFrame and the NordBoard.

 

Our Physiotherapists can use these to test the upper and lower body strength of a patient – including hip, knee, shoulder, ankle, hamstring and neck muscle groups.

 

Both combine advanced sensors and provide real-time results and analytics for testing muscle strength and imbalance.
