The health and safety of our patients and staff remains of upmost importance. We are continuing to adhere to changes in Government regulations and adjust our practices and procedures as required.
Our aim is to continue to provide essential health services in an environment where the risks of exposure to COVID-19 is managed to the best of our ability.
Great news - our group exercise classes will be recommencing soon!
Online group exercise classes have ceased in preparation for the return of our regular classes at Alphington Exercise + Rehabilitation Centre.
As permitted by the Victorian Government's current planned easing of restrictions, we will recommence on-site classes from Monday 22 June (unless rules / guidelines are amended).
Finding a granola that ticks all the boxes can be difficult. Many of the ones packed on supermarket shelves are high in sugar or over toasted to the point where you have a dental disaster waiting to happen!
Creating your own means you can completely customise your mix of ingredients to your taste and your health needs.
*This recipe makes a large batch. Store in the pantry in an airtight jar or container and it will keep for months!
Let’s work together to stop the spread of COVID-19!
If you haven’t already done so we encourage you to download the Australian Government’s COVIDSafe app.
The COVIDSafe app speeds up contacting people exposed to Coronavirus (COVID-19). It helps you and all of our communities. It also assists health officials to quickly understand and tackle the spread of COVID-19.
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) has the ability to assist patients in the prevention, management and treatment of chronic and complex conditions through specific exercise programming.
Our Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Ashley Bigaran, has considerable experience as a strength and conditioning coach as well as in the field of exercise oncology. She uses exercise medicine to manage and prevent the side effects of cancer treatment.
Despite some early wintry weather, the construction work for our renovation project is still going well at the rear of the Clinic building.
Obviously there is a long way to go with the whole redevelopment project but seeing the structure of the new floor space starting to take shape is very exciting!
To alleviate concerns and minimise exposure to COVID-19, while continuing to offer essential services to the public as best we can, we have introduced Telehealth consults at Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic.
Please Note: At this stage, for as long as it is safe and within Government regulations, we remain open to the public for face-to-face consultations as well as Telehealth consultations.
What is Telehealth? In short, video consultations between health professionals and their patients. It allows for the exchange of health information between a practitioner and patient in separate locations. While this is not suitable for all appointments, it is an option we want to offer as widely as we can to ensure as many people as possible can access the help they need. Initially we will be introducing video consults for appointments with Physiotherapists, one of our Sport & Exercise Medicine Physicians, and one of our Sport & Exercise Medicine Registrars, but we will look to expand it across other services soon. In addition, all of our Sports Medicine Doctors currently have the capacity to do phone consultations.
As a health service, at this stage, we are remaining open to the public.
The health and safety of our patients and staff remains of upmost importance and we are continuing to follow the Government health recommendations.
While we are trying to minimise the level of disruption to our services and continue to offer what is essential for our patients’ well-being, it is still most important that we uphold a safe environment for all.
We are continuing to monitor developments and adjust our practices and procedures as required.
Here’s an update of what we have been and are doing here to provide a safe environment for all staff and patients.
As a health orientated business we are obviously taking the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation very seriously. The health and safety of our patients and staff is of upmost importance and we are following Government health recommendations.
Taking into consideration the information and advice from health authorities, along with the fact that much of our work here is done in enclosed spaces and includes close contact, often touch, we have chosen to put certain measures in place to limit the risk of exposure.
This is a great mid-week meal as there is minimal cooking time required. You can also prep a few extra’s and store them in the freezer for times when you need an instant meal.
