Group Exercise Classes & Massage Therapy Services Resuming - Coronavirus Update 27 July 2021

In line with the State Government’s most recent announcement on the easing of COVID restrictions, the following changes will come into effect at our Clinic from tomorrow morning (Wednesday 28 July):

 

  • Routine, in additional to essential care, appointments will be available for all our services.
  • Massage services will resume.
  • Group Exercise Classes will recommence*.

APA titled Sports Physiotherapist and Alphington Sports Medicine's Managing Director, Dr Gaylene McKay, is currently in Tokyo for the Olympics.

 

As Lead Physiotherapist for the Opals (Australia’s Women’s Basketball Team) she’ll be doing her best to ensure all players are at peak fitness for each game.

 

Thankfully she’s also doing a great job of taking photos to give those of us back in Australia an insight into what it’s like over there, for our athletes and support crew.

Group Exercise Classes Resuming - Coronavirus Update 17 June 2021

In accordance with the Victorian Government’s most recent announcement on the easing of COVID restrictions, our Group Exercise Classes will recommence from tomorrow morning (Friday 18 June).

 

As our classes have a maximum of 5 participants, physical distancing requirements can be easily adhered to. In addition, there are strict protocols in place that all participants must follow and will include the need for all equipment to be sanitized after use.

Coronavirus Management Update - Masks

In accordance with the Victorian Government's most recent announcement on the return to mandatory mask wearing in all indoor settings – As of 6pm tonight, Tuesday 25 May, all patients are required to wear a mask when on our premises. This includes when in Exercise Classes, and when social distancing can be adhered to (unless you have an exemption).

Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic's Managing Director Dr Gaylene McKay is no stranger to the rigorous demands of professional basketball – she played over 300 games in the WNBL and has been a team Physiotherapist since the early 1990’s when she retired.

 

She returned from the WNBL hub late last year and we had a quick chat about her time in Queensland with the Melbourne Boomers.
