Physiotherapist Fiona Jacobs has recently returned from Bulgaria, where she supported Gymnastics Australia’s 5 Trampoline athletes competing at the World Cup in Varna.
We asked her to tell us a bit about the experience . . . .
How and when did you become involved with Gymnastics Australia?
Physiotherapist Brandon Lowe has just completed the season as Team Physiotherapist for the Avondale FC. The club took out the 2023 NPL VIC Men's Championship, Premiership and also achieved a points record and goals record in NPL1 for the season.

How and when did you become involved with Football (Soccer) and the Avondale FC?
Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP), also commonly known as Pelvic Instability, effects up to 50% of women during pregnancy. Thankfully, 90% of women recover from PGP within 12 months of having their baby. However, up to 10% of women can continue to have significant PGP and disability 2 years post-birth.
Introducing our new Pessary Fitting service at Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic for the management of Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP). Pessaries are non-surgical devices that provide support to the pelvic organs, helping to alleviate symptoms and improve the quality of life for women with Pelvic Organ Prolapse.
Physiotherapist Simone Muscat has just returned from Sydney where she supported the performers at Pole Icon, which she said is "the biggest event on the pole calendar”.

How and when did you become involved with Pole & Aerial Performers?
Upon the completion of the Australian Ice Hockey League 2022 (AIHL) season with Melbourne Mustangs and Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League 2022/2023 (AWIHL) season working with the Melbourne Mustangs and Melbourne Ice Women, Physiotherapist Jennifer Lohmus went to Sofia, Bulgaria with the Under 18 Australian Boys Ice Hockey Team for the IIHF Division II Group B World Championships.
