Emma Poynton

Podiatrist Emma Poynton has just finished working at Melbourne Park, where she provided Podiatry care for all players at the Australian Open.

Her clinic was part of the Player Medical Services (a multi-disciplinary sports medicine team) and was called “Foot Fault”.

Now that the tournament is over we asked her to tell us a bit about the experience . . . .

Podiatrist Emma Poynton has just returned from working at the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games. She was one of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) International Technical Officials (ITO) assigned to the Para Ice Hockey.

Now that she’s back from Beijing we asked her to tell us a bit about the experience . . . .

How did your involvement with the International Paralympic Committee and World Para Ice Hockey come about?

With the 2021 AFL season now complete, we chatted with Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic Podiatrist Emma Poynton about her involvement with the Western Bulldogs Football Club.

How and when did you become involved with the Bulldogs?

I first became involved with the Western Bulldogs at the end of 2014 in preparation for the 2015 AFL season. Then in 2016, when the AFL established an AFLW program, I joined the club’s medical team who also care for the AFLW football department.
